New BlackBerry PlayBook Hands-On Video Surfaces

Well, well, well. Cell phone site Boy Genius Report just posted a pretty lengthy video reportedly demonstrating RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. For those who have been hiding under a rock the last few months, the PlayBook is expected to run the company’s new tablet OS and will ship sometime early 2011.
Judging from the YouTube flick, the interface looks to be typical tablet fare but everything does appear smooth and responsive. At one point the machine is shown playing a full 1080p video while running in the background, a nod to the horsepower of this device. Almost all operations and interactions with the PlayBook will be done using touch controls since there are a minimum of physical buttons. Interestingly, all four sides of the bezel are touch-sensitive and enable you to perform functions within the OS such as moving apps around the desktop. Pretty wild.
