Networks in Motion Launches Gokivo LBS Software for BlackBerry
April 1st, 2009 by Todd Haselton
Networks in Motion, the company often behind Verizon Wireless’ VZ Navigator software, today announced its first direct-to-consumer application called Gokivo. The application will be available through RIM’s new BlackBerry App World store. Some features of Gokivo include live traffic, pedestrian mode, 3D/2D maps, and “Dashboard View.” It will also provide location based information on local movies and nearby concerts, sporting events, and social activities. The software can also find the cheapest gas in your area, and provide weather updates. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but we expect it will require a monthly fee similar to the $9.99 price that most carriers currently charge for turn-by-turn navigation.
