Netbook fan is way off base - the Dell Mini 9 is easily the class act of all netbooks. The SSD can easily be upgraded to 64GB, the keyboard is large and has excellent tactile response (some keys are rearranged but that is a VERY minor issue for an accomplished typist). The screen is sharp and clear, the size is ideal (this is, after all, not a full sized notebook) and battery life is more than adequate at 4.5 hours. I also own an ASUS that has annoyingly tiny keys, a lousy display, feels cheaply constructed and will only run the lousy proprietary version of Linux or a stripped down XP. I'll stick with the best - go Dell!

I have the EeePC 1000HE and my wife the S101 as backup PCs. Fits perfectly to our computing needs and nicely compliments our work PCs. Both works a dandy.

The Asus 1000HE is hands down the best netbook currently available.
Seriously... even with maxed out 16GB of HDD, the Dell Mini 9 just won't cut it for many users nowadays. Match the small HDD with a terrible keyboard and mediocre battery life, it's just your typical netbook with nothing to write home about.

I never said that the S101 was better or worse. The best is the 1000HE hands down, and it will take the gold. But as far as the first to have the first netbook, who cares about that. ASUS was the first to create the market and there's no discussion about that. They are the pioneers.
It's like discovering the west way back when. I'm sure some random people went there first but who gets the credit Lewis and Clark they brought the masses.
