The next stage for Android tablets now includes pen input and four-finger gestures. Today, N-Trig, the company that makes the high-quality capacitive digitizers that power many of the world’s leading notebooks and tablets, announced that its combination pen and capacitive touch “DuoSense”digitizers now support Android operating systems. A new generation of Android tablets with DuoSense is due sometime in 2011.
Though DuoSense, which supports up to four-fingered gestures in addition to pen input, is new to Android, the technology was actually released for Windows devices last May. To see how it works, check out the N-Trig demo videos below and stay tuned for our first hands-ons with DuoSense-enabled Android devices as soon as they become available.
