Muvee, the company behind Windows video editing software such as muvee Reveal and muvee AutoProducer, is gunning for your Android tablet or handset. At Mobile World Congress last week, the company showed off a couple of apps it hopes to license. The two apps, which will be coming as software preloads on select devices rather than entries in the Android Market, are designed to help users edit videos quickly and make the most of their social feeds.
Designed to turn your tablet into a social media photo frame, muvee’s Social Media Photo Story (pictured above) automatically pulls in photos from your Facebook, Flickr, and shwup contacts and arranges them into attractive slideshows. You can choose to view only your albums or you and your friends’ albums in the app, but unfortunately, there’s no way to filter which friends’ photos your see. So, if you have friends who has a tendency to put up photos you wouldn’t want on your frame, you’ll need to unfriend them.

If you’ve filmed a video with your phone camera and would like to trim a little off the ends or middle, muvee’s as-yet-unnamed video trimmer can slice up your video without long rendering delays. In the video demo below, you’ll see us a two minute, 720p H.264 video chopped in half in just a matter of seconds.
