I mean, I check the MSI store and I see they sell 6-cell batteries for their other models at around 115$. This is aggravating.

3 cell is meaningless... stinks. They should have delayed the launch and built an inventory. By the time it's available, it'll be out of date because it's been hyped and people want it. A pitiful job. They give a 6 hr battery and 1 gb ram for review and we get 512 and peanuts. IT hype stinks.

I am waiting for this notebook since they were talking about it! And now they’re finding a way to make change my mind. I like a long battery life and a 3 cell is not good. So, I think they will loose a lot of customers, because other companies are about to release good products also!
I hope they be smart and put this 6 cell battery avaliable quickly.

Ordered one form MSI anyway. With all of the other suppliers charging a premium for only a 3 cell, $479 isn't so bad, and unlike some of the other sub-notes on the way the memory isn't soldered to the motherboard. I'd only like to see some come out with a sub-note with a track point. I hate touchpads!

I was so excited about ordering an MSI Wind today. MSI could have easily taken my money from my impulse buy. Now I have to sit back and wait for the next batch to hit the stores. I can't even push myself to pay $20 less for a 3-cell version of the Wind even though its what I want. I think MSI has dropped the ball terribly on this launch. How do they expect to compete if they can't even get the product out? They could have posted some message prior to launch that the 3-cell would only be available, but of course thats not the business way of doing things. Impulse buys only last so long... If they would have knocked off maybe $50 off the price of the Windows model, I would have considered it more, but $20 is not even close to what they are going to charge for the 6-cell battery, whenever that happens. The Wind has been hyped up so much and MSI has not delivered. Even if the machine is everything I hope it is, that sour taste of having to wait on it will still be there. It reminds me of the cloudbook, and hp mini-note releases. Contenders end up being pretenders against Asus and no one has stepped up to the plate yet.

Ok, I've taken a deep breath now.

Lets just hope something else doesn't get released between now and then or MSI would have missed a great opportunity to steal some customers from Asus and the rest of the upcoming mini-note suppliers.

And can we please get the linux model out! I'm dying over here!

True, $20 sure ain't much of a reduction, especially when you consider that this model also has only 512 MB, and upgrading it voids the warranty.

I thought this would happen. A $20 price reduction is not much when you consider the actual battery power has been at least *halved*. And then are they going to charge ~$130 for a 6-cell battery, like hp is (trying to!) with its Mini Note?

I'd like them to clarify this situation. They either have to drop the price more or offer early buyers a drastic reduction in the price of the 6-cell battery.

For if the 6-cell Wind will still be just a $20 price difference, my cheap ass can WAIT. It's waited this long.

Nice to have you back on subnotes, Joanna!
