Motorola officially announced its upcoming Wi-Fi version of the Xoom tablet today. According to the press release, the Wi-Fi-only slate will ship for $599 starting March 27th.
Like the 3G Xoom, the Wi-Fi version has 32GB of memory, and it will sport the same 1-GHz processor, 10.1-inch display, and Honeycomb OS. Both the 3G and Wi-Fi versions come with a $599 price tag—though the 3G version costs $799 without a contract, and a contract entails at least $20 in monthly data fees. (The 3G version will also be upgradable to Verizon’s blazing LTE network in the second quarter.)
Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, Radio Shack, select Sam’s Club locations, Staples, and Walmart will be carrying the Xoom Wi-Fi in stores and online.
