Motorola Launches New Rugged Tundra to AT&T
January 6th, 2009 by Todd Haselton
This morning Motorola announced a new rugged push-to-talk device, the Tundra. It’s a 3G clamshell phone that will be headed to AT&T in the first quarter of 2009. The Tundra meets 810F government ruggedization specs, which means you can drop it or kick it around in the mud, but more important, it’s one of Motorola’s first devices to sport its CrystalTalk Plus technology.
CrystalTalk Plus helps minimize background noise by using two microphones. The Tundra will come with AT&T Navigator preinstalled, but TeleNav Track and Xandra are two GPS software options for keeping track of your mobile workforce out in the field as well.
We like that the Tundra supports multitasking, which means it’s a simple feature phone that has the ability to keep multiple applications open at once. So you can surf the Web, take a call, or schedule a meeting without closing out of programs.
The Tundra will set you back $199 after a $50 mail-in-rebate on AT&T.
