Mosspuppet Exclusive: “Buying a PC is un-American”

Today I had the distinct pleasure of scoring an interview with the only tech journalist in the world. The only one who matters, anyway: Walt Mossberg Mosspuppet. With the release of Windows 7 imminent and Apple tablet rumors/developments swirling again, we thought it would behoove us to get the opinion of an expert on such important matters as: Steve Jobs’ performance at the 9-9-09 event, how Windows destroys families, and fisticuffs with Michael Arrington.

Highlights:

  • Windows 7 (0:50): “It turns on.”
  • HP Envy & Dell’s Adamo (1:33): “In years coming up [products from Apple] will make the Adamo look a-damn-dumb.”
  • Going into debt for Apple products (2:23): “You’re sabotaging the American economy if you’re not buying a Mac.”
  • Cross-platform relationships (3:19): “A deep ideological divide that can’t be crossed.”
  • Apple Tablet (4:16): “If Apple announced this tablet tomorrow and everyone saw it they’d probably have a heart attack.”
  • Microsoft Courier (5:05): “The Courier would impress me if my favorite brand were Fischer-Price.”
  • HTC Hero & Windows Mobile (5:33): “You’ve got to eliminate the iPhone as a point of reference.”
  • Steve Jobs, the 9-9-09 event and the iPod nano (6:25): “Steve Jobs is almost always right.”
  • On his relationship with Steve Jobs (7:14): “Look, Mossberg, I love you like a brother or a father or something…”
  • On other “journalists” and journalism (8:20): “[David Pogue is] a really terrible nerd.”

Mosspuppet appeared courtesy of RantPuppets and HoggWorks Studios. Thanks to Brian Hogg for setting it up.

This interview is featured on “Into Tomorrow…with Dave Graveline“, airing on October 16, 2009. Check it out!

    How can you allow such a biased idiot speak? The “guts of the machine”? Has he looked at the Envy 15 from HP and how it is more powerful than a $3000 17″ Macbook pro? The cruddy 9600GT in SOME of the Macbook pro’s are being eclipsed by machines costing 1/3 what they do. What about blu-ray? Oh right, apple doesn’t know what they is.

    This bimbo acknowledges nothing. He is able to see only as much as apple’s ever-lying advertisements show. If only some people knew what computer hardware is…

  2. ChocolatePants Says:

    @ Isend.

    Seriously?

  3. joe c Says:

    He’s Walt Mossberg. Shut up.

    (first excuse my spelling)

    @Isend

    If you know anything about Mosspuppet (MP), HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE BIASED FOR THE SAKE OF THE COMEDY. The guy who is behind Mosspuppet, Brian Hogg, is creating a character who is an exaduated version of Mossberg is (MP says that buying a PC is un-american, but Mossberg recently said that Win7 is one of the best operating systems out there)

    Also, MP takes the mickey out of Apple fanboys as well.

  5. Isend Says:

    Thank you for explaining it to me Lama, I didn’t realize it was a play on anything. I thought that the doll was just a cover.

  6. K. T. Bradford Says:

    That would be an interesting meta idea — tech pundits saying what they really feel by creating puppet versions of themselves.

    @K. T. Bradford

    well, Brian did do a Leo Laporte (Tech Journalist and host of a variety of shows on Twit.tv), Kevin Rose (founder of Digg and host of Diggnation) and Alex Albrecht (Host of Diggnation) puppets for his show dotBoom,
    He did Mosspuppet and Jobpuppet and another lot of other designs for other people,
    I found this link though Fake Steve Jobs…
    It could work.
