August was a surprisingly strong month for smartphones. Motorola released a number of phones, namely the Moto X and its updated Droid line–of which we got to test two versions of the Moto X along with the Droid Ultra. The HTC One Mini almost snuck through our offices, but we could see the Samsung Galaxy Mega 3 coming from a mile away. A slew of note-taking apps impressed as well as a few notebooks, most notable of which was the MSI GS70, a super slim gaming laptop.
