There’s the Galaxy Tab. And the Xoom. But that’s just scratching the surface. There’s an entire army of Android-powered tablets on the march against the iPad 2, from 7-inch slates with pen input (like the upcoming HTC Flyer) to 10-inch models with detachable keyboards (ASUS Transformer). In fact, Google’s OS has so much support from so many companies that some analysts project that Android will overtake Apple’s iPad by 2014.
But that’s the future. Here’s a look at a whooping 41 Android tablets that are either on the market now or will be hitting stores later this year.

Why no mention of Archos tablets?
i happen to be posting on my A70 from a Starbucks in Japan (Akihabara) to be more specific.

nice, hopefully this will grow over time to make the tablet selection process easier. one suggestion though – add the type of screen (resistive/capacitive) to the list. that feature really impacts usability and price.

You missed the best Android tablet of all – the Barnes and Noble Nook Color. Yes, it is a locked system. Even in its native condition it outperforms many of the so-called “tablets” on your list. Take 15 minutes of your precious day, and a 4gb micro SD card, and you can root the Nook to have a fully productive, fun, Android 2.1 tablet which is thinner, lighter, and has a vastly better screen than any other 7″ tablet on the market. Want to invest a little more time? Upgrade to a Class 10 8gb-16gb micro SD and you will be rocking Android 2.2, 2.3, or even Honeycomb from the SD card without even touching your internal setup. What do you lose – no camera, no GPS, no 3g. But all of this comes at a cost of $249 with the vastly superior IPS LCD (just put one next to a Glaxay Tab and you’ll see what I mean).
