Today, Google not only showed off its new OS, but also introduced a new piece of hardware, the Google Cr-48 (named after Chromium 48)netbook with Chrome. According to Google, the device is not designed for consumers but just Google employees, journalists, and select early adopters who will provide the company with feedback on the Chrome experience. Still, if you apply to be in the pilot program, Google may just send you one.
So here’s what we know about the netbook and it’s specs:
We also know that, according to Google, the first consumer Chrome netbooks will look nothing like the Cr-48 and that the Cr-48 will have a jailbreak switch under the battery that will allow for all kinds of hacking, including installing a different OS.
