Look Ma No Hands! Kensington Introduces Hands-Free Visor Kit
January 6th, 2009 by Todd Haselton The Kensington Hands-Free Visor Car Kit looks like an old school walkie talkie (ugly) but its functionality may outweigh that initial setback.
Like all in-car speakerphones, it lets you sync up to your phone using a Bluetooth connection to place calls without actually touching your handset. The kit includes a car charger and the speakerphone which clips on to your car’s sun visor. The speakerphone has three programmable buttons for calling your most dialed contacts at the press of a button, and you can sync it with up to three different phones so that multiple people can use it.
Kensington claims the device has crystal clear call quality thanks to its patented clear-voice tranmission and noise canceling microphone. The device should also offer up to 20 hours of talk time if you use both of its battery packs–the device comes with two so that you can keep one 10-hour charge ready to replace your battery whenever it dies.
We’re excited to give the $119 Kensington Hands-free Visor Car Kit a test run.
