Limited Edition Sony VAIO W Goes Surfing with Billabong
Sony’s partnered with surf-wear retailer Billabong to release a special summertime edition of the VAIO W netbook. If the W’s original color options didn’t float your board when it was first released earlier this year, Sony’s latest paintjob, Imperial Lime, will certainly get seaside members of the back-to-the-school and summer vacation sets into the water with its eye-catching lid of pearl blue, palm tree green, and marl grey.
Based on a pair of surf-ready broad shorts from Billabong, the Imperial Lime Edition holds internal specs identical to the netbook we reviewed in January: 10.1-inch display with a 720p HD resolution; 250GB, 500RPM hard drive; 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470 CPU; Intel GMA 3100 for video processing, and Windows 7 Starter. There is, however, one difference: this model costs $500, as opposed to $480. It’s also available for purchase right now at Sony Style retailers across the country, so feel free to buy it and haul it to a shore near you.
