Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d Reviewed: Great Notebook On its Own, Plus 3D!
August 23rd, 2010 by Michael A. Prospero, LAPTOP Reviews Editor
Only a handful of 3D-enabled notebooks have passed through LAPTOP’s testing labs, but the Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d ranks as one of the better ones, albeit for its non-3D performance. With an Intel Core i7 processor and discrete ATI graphics, this 15.6-inch notebook is a better than average gaming machine in its own right.
Seen in this regard, 3D is like icing on the cake, which is probably a good thing, considering the technology is still in its infancy and there’s not much content that you can actually watch. Still, it was a lot of fun playing our favorite games, as the added dimension really lent extra realism to first-person shooters. The only things holding the Y560d back were its short battery life and subpar screen. However, for its street price of around $1,100, you could probably overlook them.
