Lenovo Debuts Montevina-Powered ThinkPad X301

Today, Lenovo unveiled the ThinkPad X301, an update to the ThinkPad X300 that was released earlier this year. Although it may sport a very similar build to its predecessor, the Lenovo ThinkPad X301 ($2,089.00) is quite different under the hood, as it’s powered by Intel’s Montevina platform (which is touted as offering a 20% faster performance over the X300). Intrigued? Let’s check the known specs:

  • 1.2-GHZ U9300 Intel Core 2 Duo ULV processor; 1.4-GHz U9400 Intel Core 2 Duo ULV processor
  • 13.3-inch, backlit LED WXGA+ display
  • 512MB, 1GB, or 2GB of RAM
  • 64GB or 80GB solid-state drives. (A 128GB SSD will be available in September)
  • 802.11n Wi-Fi
  • DisplayPort, VGA
  • Pointing stick
  • Fingerprint reader
  • WiMax and UltraWide Band support
  • Bluetooth
  • AT&T or Verizon mobile broadband w/ GPS
  • An ultra-thin DVD+/-RW optical drive
  • Starting at under 3-pounds and less than 1-inch thin

The Lenovo ThinkPad X301 will be available for purchase on August 26th, with a starting price of approximately $2,599.

    When you use X301 with a 128GB SSD the wow factor becomes holy.

    Now add windows 7 64-bit Pro, WOW WOW and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Chester the cost has come down as well.
