Lenovo Announces Slim IdeaPad S10-3s with InstantOn Browser, High-Res Screen

The S10-3s is part of the same netbook family as the S10-3 we recently reviewed, only it’s slimmer (0.6 inches thin instead of 1.4) and has an InstantOn browser, so you can get online while you wait for Windows 7 Starter to boot. Otherwise, the S10-3s has all the usual netbook specs, including an Intel Atom N450 or N470 CPU, 2GB of RAM, hard drives ranging in size from 160GB to 320GB, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 1.3-MP camera with face recognition software.

Sadly, this premium netbook has integrated Intel GMA 3100 graphics only (no Ion 2), but at least its 10.1-inch display has a max resolution of 1280 x 720, which is high for a netbook. And like other Lenovo netbooks, this one comes with DirectShare software (which syncs files across multiple computers) Maplife software (which determines your location over Wi-Fi).

The S10-3s will be available in the middle of this month (i.e., very soon) for a price of $379. Look for it in black, white, and a “spring flowers” design.
