Leaked Shots of BlackBerry “Gemini” Have Us Drooling
May 1st, 2009 by Todd Haselton
Holy smokes that’s a beautiful BlackBerry. CrackBerry.com just uncovered spy shots of the BlackBerry “Gemini” 8520, a device that looks like a cross between the Curve 8900, the Bold, and Heaven. The Gemini features some unique hardware tweaks, including an optical trackball in place of the current (not optical) trackball. I wonder if that means it’s anything like the optical mouse on the Samsung Epix, which was a pretty good navigation solution, and would totally eliminate the whole “pocket fuzz jammed my BlackBerry” factor. Like the 8900, though, CrackBerry is reporting that the device doesn’t have 3G connectivity. That’s a pretty big bummer. The phone is said to have a rubbery surface with rubber-coated buttons. There aren’t any leaks on a carrier yet.
