LAPTOP Readers’ Choice: Apple Wins Best Design

Last week we asked our readers to vote on which notebook brand offered the best design. You’ve read our Best & Worst Laptop Brands piece and seen our rankings, so how do your choices match up to ours?
The majority of you agreed with our assessment that Apple offered the most aesthetically pleasing and well-built notebooks around. Second place went to Sony, another synchronicity, but readers ranked ASUS higher than we did, with 37.1% giving the brand 4 points out of 5. Here’s the breakdown of brands you rated from best to worst for design:
- Apple — 64.9% of respondents rated this brand a 5 out of 5.
- Sony — 4 out of 5
- ASUS — 4 out of 5
- Toshiba — 4 out of 5
- Acer — 3 out of 5
- Samsung — 3 out of 5
- HP — 3 out of 5
- Dell — 3 out of 5
- MSI — 3 out of 5
- Lenovo — 3 out of 5
- Fujitsu and Gateway — 39% of of respondents rated these brands 2 out of 5.
