iPhone OS version 3.0 Now Available
At 1pm today Apple made its new iPhone operating system, version 3.0, available for public download. We’ve had our hands on a beta developer copy for some time now and are already pleased with some of the new enhancements. If you haven’t been following closely, here’s a quick overview of what you can expect from the update:
- Cut and Paste support
- Push notifications inside applications
- A true compass app which integrates with Google Maps
- Landscape QWERTY keyboard
- MMS (coming to AT&T later this summer)
- A voice memo application
- Improved calendar with Google Calendar sync
- Improved Stocks application
- Universal “Spotlight” device search
- Download videos and TV shows from Wi-Fi hot spots
The update is free, so what are you waiting for? Just plug your iPhone into your computer, launch iTunes, and click ‘Update.’
