iPhone-Controlled Xachi Pets Are As Cool As They Are Cuddly

What would happen if a Furby and one of these three-eyed aliens from Toy Story got together and decided to join their DNA? The result might look something like the Xachi Pets we spotted at Toy Fair. These cute and furry toys aren’t just for cuddling. They’re interactive and controlled wirelessly from an iPhone or iPod touch via a free app.

It’s easy to fall under the spell of this dancing, talkative furball, but the really cool stuff happens when you use the iPhone to interact with it. The app shows meters for Xachi’s health and happiness so you know when to play with or feed it. You can earn shells to buy food and water by playing games. The toy won’t die a virtual death like Tamagochis of the past, but a sad, hungry Xachi is no fun!

The toy will also dance to your music and react if you stroke the fur on its head or turn it upside down. Yes, there’s an accelerometer inside, so it’s obviously the perfect companion for your iPhone. As you can see, it also makes a fun iPhone holder.

Watch the video below to see Xachi in action.

Xachi Pets won’t be available until this summer. If you can’t wait to get your hands on one, you can sign up for email updates on the Xachi website.
