Do you have your overnight bag ready to wait in line for the shiny new iPhone 6? For those Apple loyalists who simply can’t wait, you can buy a protective case for the next-generation iPhone starting at $15 through case maker Spigen’s website.
Four designs are currently available for pre-order, with two $15 models, one $25 version and one for $35. The four models offer varying levels of protection for the phone, and come in a range of colors including gold, mint, gunmetal, black and white. The cases were all made to accommodate a 4.7-inch display and longer volume buttons on the edge.
No cases are available yet for the rumored 5.5-inch version of the next iPhone, which is expected to be released after the smaller version due to production delays.
While Apple sometimes releases design information about upcoming devices to trusted partners so they can start making accessories that can be available at launch, Spigen’s cases don’t seem to be based on inside knowledge. On its website, the accessories maker says it has a good idea of what the iPhone 6 will look like “due to leaked data.”
Of course, if the company did have inside information from Apple, this statement could just be a way to legally protect itself. Spigen also says “it is all but assured that Apple will launch a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 this September.”
In addition to a larger display, the purported iPhone 6 is also expected to feature a strong sapphire crystal display, faster A8 processor and a ton of camera features and improvements. We’re not sure if Spigen’s move is a brilliant way to get an edge over competing case makers, but it sure is an excellent way to drum up publicity and interest in the company’s products. Apple’s expected to officially unveil its latest flagship on Sept. 9.
