iPhone 4 Ready for Pre-Order Tomorrow, Verizon Customers Get First Dibs

February 2nd, 2011 by Kenneth Butler, LAPTOP Web Producer/Writer

At the edge of your seat waiting for the Verizon iPhone to go on sale on February 10? Well, we hope you’re a Verizon Wireless customer.

Starting tomorrow February 3, that lucky set will be able to pre-register for their CDMA-based iPhone via apple.com or verizonwireless.com/iphone.  Better register early (we’re guessing 12am tonight is a good time to check either site). Apple warns supplies are limited and early registrations will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Non-Verizon subscribers (read: AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile customers with expended contracts) can order a $199 16GB iPhone 4 from Apple starting  on Wednesday February 9.

In-store, full-wait pickup takes place the very next day, Thursday February 10, at 7am local time.

Any giddy Verizon Wireless fans waiting by the computer tonight?

I’m def looking into getting this around 2am central time. Currently using the Palm Pre Plus that I like but desperately want more apps for WebOS. Although still not 100% sure due to a new iPhone 5 in June, the HTC Thunderbold will be 4th Gen LTE and the Droid Bionic will be a supersmartphone with dual cores. Should I or shouldn’t I? It’s a hard choice because the iPhone 4G is such a stellar and beautiful smartphone.

My phone isn’t smart enough. Period. I went to bed early last night, set the alarm for 3 a.m. EST and got up and ordered my phone. I felt like a kid overnighting it for concert tickets, without the easy recovery the next day. I should recover from the disrupted sleep by the time my iPhone arrives :) I’m so excited about receiving my new gadget!

Yes, it *was* like buying concert tickets. I put my laptop next to the bed open to the Verizon iPhone order page, woke up at 1:56 a.m., hit “refresh” and yes!
