iPhone 4 Pre-Orders Give Verizon Biggest First-Day Sales Ever–In Two Hours
February 4th, 2011 by Mark Spoonauer, LAPTOP Editor in Chief We can’t say we’re surprised. Verizon Wireless just announced that the company has ended online orders of the iPhone 4 to existing customers (we’re assuming it’s because they sold out), ending “the most successful first day sales in the history of the company.” In fact, the carrier said it took just two hours–between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.–to break Verizon’s record for first-day sales of a phone.
Dont’ worry if you feel left out. General sales start on Feb. 10, and Verizon will open its stores at 7 a..m. so you can pick up your iPhone 4 and then look up the nearest Starbucks. The device will also be available at all Apple store locations, Best Buy, select Wal-Mart stores, and on-line at verizonwireless.com and apple.com.
