iPhone 3.0 Software Update Review Verdict: Almost Like Getting a New Phone
June 19th, 2009 by Mark Spoonauer, LAPTOP Editor in Chief
A fair number of die hard fans are standing in line today to get the iPhone 3G S. But I’m guessing that in this economy a lot of you will just be updating your first-gen iPhone or iPhone 3G with the iPhone 3.0 Software Update. Or maybe you’ll pick up the $99 iPhone 3G for the first time. Whichever route you choose, check out our full review of the software. The process itself was pretty painless for me, and once you start digging around and discovering all the new features, you might feel like you’ve been handed a new phone. Spotlight Search is my favorite addition–just swipe to the left–with the ability to quickly find anything from iTunes songs and Apps to e-mails and calendar entries with a couple quick taps. To see how all the other features stack up check out the review and tell us what you think once you have it up and running.
