iPad Video FAQ: How Well Does it Play Video and Games?
April 2nd, 2010 by Meghan J. McDonough, LAPTOP Web Producer/Writer
The grand opening sign is barely up on the iPad App Store, but there are already many iPad-specific apps available for it. Among others, our iPad came with an ABC TV app, Real Racing HD, and Flying Fairies, a Tinkerbell game (hey, it’s great for kids).
Streaming over Wi-Fi in the ABC app, Modern Family looked good. The video was clear and never hiccuped. It’s like holding a TV in your hands, but the screen isn’t so big that it feel overwhelming.
Make no mistake, the games we’ve seen on the iPad look great. Whereas the iPhone and iPod touch had a solid, but condensed gaming experience, the iPad is much more in-your-face in a good way. As you’ll see in the video, Real Racing HD has a great cockpit view that just feels more real.
