iPad Keyboard Dock, Power Adapter Delayed: Do You Still Want One?
March 16th, 2010 by Dana Wollman
Although Apple started taking pre-orders for the iPad this week, its two accompanying accessories, a keyboard dock and a power adapter, have both been delayed until May. Both the home-friendly dock, which has a physical keyboard attached, and the 10W USB power adapter will arrive in May, a month after April 3, the day Wi-Fi only iPads go on sale in Apple stores. As it is, the official iPad case isn’t going to arrive until mid-April. However, the standard iPad dock and Dock Connector to VGA Adapter are still slated to go on sale when the iPad does. The delay could reflect a high initial demand for the iPad. According to some estimates, Apple sold more than 120,000 in its first day. Analysts are predicting that in 2010, the company will sell between 2 and 4 million, with a larger number to follow in 2011.
