I’ll Have a Cell Phone to Go, Please

Yesterday was a typical Sunday for me-I watched a couple of cheesy actions flicks (Enter the Dragon, Gymkata), read a few choice blogs, and listened to a podcast or three. Such strenuous activities wears on a man, so I decided that I need some sushi to build my waning strength. So I strode to the kitchen to grab a menu that I had picked up from my local sushi palace, and lo and behold – a technological shocker. Sandwiched in between the Odessa Roll and the Kraz were three names that really, really stood out: I Phone, Blackberry Pearl, and LG Chocolate. I did a double take, but my eyes didn’t deceive me; they were really on the menu. Apparently the I Phone consists of spicy yellowtail, crunchy apple, caviar, and pink powder; Blackberry Pearl is baked meal made of eel, cucumber, avocado wrap with white fish, and black caviar mayonnaise on top; LG Chocolate is a funky blend of salmon, eel, pepper tuna, a special avocado sauce, and caviar. After bursting out with laughter I called up the sushi joint and inquired about the names. The guy on the other end of the horn didn’t speak very good English, but it sounded like he replied with “It sound cool.” It sound cool, indeed. When all was said and done, I didn’t order the I Phone, Blackberry Pearl, or LG Chocolate-I opted for the Chicken Teriyaki bento box. But I have to say, I wouldn’t mind others coming up with tech-themed treats. My geek sweet tooth is praying that Ben & Jerry’s is planning a Commodore Sixty-Smore flavor.
