HTC Upgrades Sense, Launches 2 New European Android Phones
September 15th, 2010 by Sean Ludwig
HTC on Wednesday announced an upgrade to its Sense user interface for its Android phones. The new Sense adds new capabilities to the camera software, a feature for finding or wiping a lost phone on HTCSense.com, and adds in HTC Locations—a mapping program. HTC last refreshed Sense this past February.
The new HTCSense.com site gives users a new level of control over their devices and lets users find, remotely lock, or wipe their phones when they are misplaced or stolen. The feature is similar to other phone finders like Microsoft’s My Phone, Apple’s MobileMe, and BlackBerry Protect.
Along with the Sense upgrade, HTC announced two new Android devices targeted at European markets, the Desire HD and Desire Z. The Desire HD is basically a European version of the HTC Evo 4G, with a 4.3-inch screen, 1-GHz Snapdragon processor, and an 8-megapixel camera. The Desire Z is basically a Euro version of the T-Mobile G2, with a 3.7-inch screen, 800-MHz processor, and a 5-megapixel camera.
