HTC HD2_Front_&amp__Back_&amp__Right_1002HTC today announced its high-end Windows Phone (Windows Mobile 6.5 OS), the HD2. The device, a follow-up to the original HD, sports a large 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen with a stellar 800 x 480 resolution. Plus, unlike other Windows Phones, this one sports multitouch gestures.

With a screen like that, and at a slim .4 inches thick, the phone’s a veritable movie theater in your pocket; and the 3.5 mm headphone jack means you can enjoy flicks on the train, too. And there’s no doubt there’s enough power for pumping out movies and playing games with Qualcomm’s 1-GHz Snapdragon processor under the hood.

At first, the HD2 will only be available overseas, but HTC says we should expect it stateside early next year. Other features include HTC’s cool Sense interface (found on the HTC Hero), Wi-Fi, a 5-MP camera, and GPS.

The pricing and release date have not yet been finalized.
