<description>I have a hdx 16 computer and it has been fixed 2 time under warranty with the screen having scratches from the keyboard. I called with it for the third time and hp will not fix it. They say it is user abuse on my part. I find it funny that hp fixed it twice under warranty and now it is user abuse. The case number from hp was 750114780* this time. The computer S/N is *********.

Complaint Summary

I have a hdx 16 computer and it has been fixed 2 time under warranty with the screen having scratches from the keyboard.

Resolution Sought
I would like for HP to repair the computer with a permanent fix.

Company&#039;s Response
Company&#039;s Initial Response - Posted 11/10/2009 Hewlett Packard’s Case Manager Sherri advised Mr. the LCD screen is considered cosmetic and not covered under the 1yr manufactured warranty. Hewlett Packard did 2 complimentary LCD screen repairs. Mr should purchase an Accidental Damage Protection Warranty on his unit before the 1yr manufactured warranty expires. The Case Manager has advised Mr. there will not be a third LCD screen repair. Initial Response Summary The Case Manager has advised Mr. Shaw there will not be a third LCD screen repair.

My Reply Back Was.

I would agree it is cosmetic at first however the scratches do get bigger and they do start to affect the viewing of the screen. If you look at hps Owen wed forum
 @ http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/board/message?board.id=Display&amp;thread.id=4919
and http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/board/message?board.id=Display&amp;thread.id=5050
 and http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/board/message?board.id=Display&amp;thread.id=3334
     and http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/board/message?board.id=Hardware&amp;thread.id=2262

you will see several pages of unhappy people with the screen not getting fix.
I do believe it is a defect in the alignment of the henge and it needs to be addressed
by hp. If you had a car window and every tine it rain the window shield wipers rubbed marks into the window you would be going to Gm, ford, Honda to have it fix so you could see clearly out the window. I fill this is the some thing We all pay good money for a good computer and i do believe the computer is great except for the screen being scratched from the keyboard. I know i am not the only person with this problem. As for the Accidental Warranty it did not happen By ACCIDENT it is a know problem with the hp module.

Please go to my Youtube page and post a comment about what hp has done to you and what you would like done.
