With a launch event in the works and a rumored release date out, it looks like HP is gearing up to bring its Veer smart phone to market. According to PreCentral, the super-lightweight phone, first announced in February, will reportedly be available through AT&T starting May 2nd. (A launch event in Anaheim will reportedly be held that same day.)
HP has marketed the Veer as a cheaper alternative to the Pre 3, though no pricing info for this webOS-powered phone has been released. When we went hands-on with the phone in February, we were amazed by the 3.6-ounce device’s almost comically tiny design. Still, with an 800-MHz Qualcomm CPU, a 5-megapixel camera, and a full QWERTY keyboard, this is a smart phone–and one that stands out from a sea of others thanks to its unique form factor.
Stay tuned for info as May 2nd draws closer.
