Think of it as the snack size webOS phone. The Veer looks like its replacing the Pixi as the smallest handset in the webOS lineup, featuring an almost comically tiny design. This rounded 3.6-ounc slider sports a small 2.6-inch display (400 x 320 pixels), and a sliding design that reveals a gummy keyboard. Yes, the keys are miniaturized, but we didn’t have a problem pecking out a few words during our brief hands-on time. Those with large hands, though, should definitely steer clear of the Veer.
Under the hood is an 800-MHz processor, 8GB of memory, and a (no surprise) small 910mAh battery. We have to wonder how long this device will last on a charge. All the webOS features seemed to work well, and the handset easily handled a game of Angry Birds. But the Veer definitely seems like a niche play.
