HP TouchPad Arriving For $499 In June, 7-Inch TouchPad In September?
March 16th, 2011 by Meghan J. McDonough, LAPTOP Web Producer/Writer The webOS fanatics over at PreCentral.net were tipped with a employee training sheet from a “major US retailer” that places the release of the 10-inch HP TouchPad in June and a smaller 7-inch webOS tablet in September.
The 10-inch TouchPad is expected to follow Apple’s pricing of $499 for a 16GBÂ Wi-Fi version and $599 for a 32GB Wi-Fi version. Granted, nothing’s official at this point, but considering that interoperability between the TouchPad and the Pre 3 was heavily touted during the TouchPad’s announcement last month, it’s a safe bet that the Pre 3 and the smaller Veer will be released around the same time.
One thing to consider is the veracity of the timeline. For example, it shows the Motorola Xoom launching on March 17th. As we reported this morning, the official release date is March 27th. However, it should still give hope to tablet fans as it shows the BlackBerry Playbook launching on March 27th and assorted10-inch Android Honeycomb tablets from HTC, Dell, Acer, and Toshiba all launching in June.
