CES 2010
Hands-on with HP’s Snapdragon-Powered Android Smartbook Prototype
January 6th, 2010 by Meghan J. McDonough, LAPTOP Web Producer/Writer
Tonight at the pre-CES Digital Experience showcase, HP showed journalists a working prototype of an Android smartbook, based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset and integrated Scorpion ARM-based CPU. As this was just a demo unit, no specs were available and HP told us they have no intention of releasing this exact unit to the market. However, they are experimenting with both Android OS and with the Snapdragon platform so it’s possible we’ll see something similar shipping in the future.
We weren’t able to play with the prototype ourselves, but HP Product Manager Andy Clipsham demonstrated it for us. Check out the video below and see for yourself.
