dude, HP should keep it simple. 1. XP as the main operating system 2. switch to the VIA NANO chip. so that it could be ahead of the competition!

I love my Mini-Note and I agree a faster processor would really make Vista shine.

I used my 1.2 mini note for 12 hours, and packed it up and sent it back. My 701 eee, was faster, trouble free. Suse enterprise is not the best distro out there. The screen on the mini note is great, but the laptop gets real hot and is real slow. The eee pc 701 seems faster. The via chip kills this machine

but what about the glossy display of the HP 2133? it is not that bad as some reviews point out? I mean, will I be able to work on that display for hours without getting headache?

HP gets credit for a GREAT keyboard, and a BETTER display, but they completely missed on the VIA. I bought one of the $599 versions with the 1.2 GHz Via and Vista-- and the thing barely ran. I tried using Firefox and it hung. Skype audio only cracked up. Don't even think about YouTube.

I was very disappointed in the fact HP would even consider Vista for this computer. After 3 days of frustrating use, I returned it for full refund. I'll keep my eee 701 pc for now. It runs Firefox, Skype and Youtube without incident. Though, I'll certainly miss the better screen and keyboard.

I suppose the 1.6 GHz with WinXP would probably suffice, but stay away from the 1.2 Vista version! Definitely worth the extra $150, especially since you can downgrade to XP (you can't with the 1.2 version).

I wonder if HP even tested Vista on the 1.2? I can't believe they did.

If they really want to compete with ASUS then they had better switch to the ISAIAH Processor and go with at least a 20Gb. SSD drive In order to keep up with the ASUS fast Boot times.

There will be a grant funded study beginning this summer to investigate the use
of the UMPC machines by students and facility in California colleges.

The HP-2133 is one of the machines to be included in the study.
It should indeed be an interesting summer.

You left out the most important question. You must not be a New Yorker! The Q: When will it be in J&R? That's the only way I'll get to fondle the keyboard. It seems you lot won't offer me an invite:
