How to Turn Off iPhone 5 Notifications

Your iPhone 5 lets you know whenever you have a missed call, text message or notification within an app by showing red circles with numbers inside of them (the numbers indicate how many notifications you have within that particular app). This is great for staying in the know, but it’s not always necessary to know the exact moment that someone tweeted at you or when a game has an update.

It can be annoying to see your iPhone screen littered with red circles, and even more importantly, checking for new updates uses a lot juice. Here’s how to turn off all notifications off, or select by app which notifications you’d like to disable.

  1. Navigate to the Settings menu, then tap Notifications.
  2. Select the apps you don’t want notifications from in the Notifications Center. When you tap each app, you’ll be taken to its menu sreen.
  3. Within each app’s menu, toggle Notification Center to Off. If you want to maximize your battery life and don’t need any notifications, toggle Notification Center to Off for all of your apps.

  1. Mickey Says:

My iPhone 5 was stolen. When I used Find iPhone to track it. Every time I saw the location, an email went to the phone and it was turned off. Now I have a new iPhone. Can I disable that notification so the thief will not know it is being tracked?
