At the Windows Phone 7 launch event Monday, we had the chance to get a little hands-on time with the new Samsung Focus with the Windows Phone 7 OS. The phone will launch on AT&T sometime in November. The Focus runs the new Windows Phone 7 OS, with easy-to-touch icons populating the home screen.
The first thing that stuck out to us on the Focus was the 4-inch Super-AMOLED screen, which really pops when sitting next to other Windows Phone 7 smart phones–its color and text display are beautiful. Next, we felt the device was very responsive to our touch, and apps like IMDB, Photos, and Twitter launched with ease. We can tell a lot of work has been done to speed up the new OS, so everything can move quickly.
The Focus shares a lot of similarities in look and feel to the Samsung Galaxy S line, especially the Samsung Vibrant on T-Mobile and the Samsung Fascinate on Verizon. It is slim in the hand at .3 inches, and AT&T is touting it as the slimmest WP7 phone. It’s pretty light too, weighing in at 3.8 ounces. Check out our photos and hands-on video below.
