Hands-On With the HP EliteBook
June 11th, 2008 by Dana Wollman
Earlier, we wrote about the HP EliteBook (among 9 other business notebooks released today). This afternoon, I got some hands on time with it at the Berliner Congress Center. At 2.1 kilograms (or 4.6 pounds), it feels heavy for a notebook with a 13.3-inch screen. In person, however, we like the brushed aluminum lid; it looks elegant, yet understated, which is what we think HP’s target user is looking for. Not even a brillo pad can scratch it. The keyboard, while not as snazzy as the redesigned DV line, is ample and easy to type on. Check out our hands-on video for a closer look at the new, durable EliteBook.

It looks heavy for a 13.3inch notebook because the 8530 is actually a 15.4inch notebook.
