Hands-On With Sprint’s HTC Touch Pro

September 10th, 2008 by Todd Haselton

Sprint launched two devices today that are nearly identical in hardware and software: the HTC Touch Diamond and the HTC Touch Pro. But the Touch Pro stands out due to its full landscape QWERTY keypad that slides out from underneath its display. And while the HTC Touch Diamond comes with 4GB of internal storage, the Touch Pro has a microSD card slot that allows for up to 16GB of additional memory to be plugged in. Its 3.2MP camera also has an LED flash: a feature the Touch Diamond lacks altogether. Both devices have HTC’s TouchFLO interface and added SprintTV application. So at $299, the HTC Touch Pro, to us, is a much more compelling buy than the $249 Touch Diamond. For $40 you get a full QWERTY keyboard, up to 16GB of storage, and a camera that has flash. Check out our video hands-on below for more of our thoughts on the HTC Touch Pro which is due out on October 19th, and stay tuned for our full review of the HTC Touch Diamond.
