Hands-on with Samsung Magnet
April 2nd, 2009 by Todd Haselton
While Samsung and AT&T haven’t officially announced a price for the new Magnet, Samsung assures us that it will be highly affordable. Given its smartphone form factor and comfortable keyboard, we think that budget wary phone buyers that aren’t interested in clamshell phones will appreciate its candy bar style. While the specs are fairly limited, users will appreciate its large display, thin design, and spacious keyboard. We do wonder, however, whether its form factor will lead some people to wonder if it’s a smart phone, so it will be up to the carriers to distinguish this from other phones like the BlackBerry Curve, which offers infinitely more functionality. Although honestly, its orange coloring should deter the hardcore smartphone users anyhow. Stay tuned for more as we get this into the office and as pricing is revealed, but we can confidently say we think heavy duty SMSers on a budget will want to check the Samsung Magnet out.
