Hands-On With Celio’s RedFly Mobile App

celio2Celio, most known for its RedFly C7 and C8n Mobile Companion devices, announced its Mobile Viewer software for Windows Mobile phones which allows you to view and interact with your phone directly from your PC using a USB cable. What makes it different than other applications like Pocket Controller Pro, which let you control your phone from your PC also, is that Celio’s solution will resize the resolution of your phone’s screen to make it more presentable. You can easily type out an e-mail with your phone connected, on an airplane for example, and then when your phone is reconnected to the wireless network back on the ground, it’ll fire it off for you. It’s also good for typing long documents on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional devices that don’t have full keyboards and require you to use a stylus. The software is currently in Beta and is available as a download from Celio’s Web site. At launch–it will be available in Microsoft’s application store–it will cost $39.99. That’s a lot cheaper than the Celio RedFly C8n Mobile Companion which can run you as much as $299.
