Google Announces Movie Studio App for Honeycomb Tablets

Today in Barcelona Google CEO Eric Schmidt introduced the new Movie Studio app, made especially for Android tablets running Honeycomb. With this app, users can edit video and combined still photos and video together in one project. It looks like the basics are there — adding a soundtrack, fade in and fade out, plus a few other effects. It’s reminiscent of the iMovie app for iPhone. But Google is one up on Apple in this category since you can’t get iMovie on the iPad. Sure, there are other video editing apps, but none from Apple.
Then again, current Android users can’t get this app on their phones, either. Don’t cry too much over it. Google has promised that the next Android will meld the phone and tablet versions into something harmonious and delicious. Mmm, Ice Cream.
