Gateway Tweaks MC Series Line to Create More Budget Conscious MD Line

In our minds Gateway’s MC Series, which was released in November of 2008, was a sexy laptop for a pretty affordable price point; some configurations were as low as $899. But that wasn’t low enough for Gateway. Leveraging the fashion-forward style of the MC Series, its new MD Series notebook line delivers the same stylish package with a few cost saving tweaks (a smaller 15.6-inch screen for one) for as low as $799. Check out our full review of the Gateway MD Series which notched four stars. For $799 you really can’t get any mainstream laptop with as much style and storage space (it boasts a 500GB hard drive). The MD has the popular 16:9 aspect ratio 1366×768 resolution 15.6-inch display. Gone is the edge to edge glass screen from the MD Series as well as the backlit keyboard.  Got to save that money!
