Gateway NV Series Adds 4G WiMax Option
September 29th, 2010 by Meghan J. McDonough, LAPTOP Web Producer/Writer Gateway just announced that the latest offering in their attractive NV notebook series, the NV59C66u is available starting today with an integrated WiMax card starting at $699, and includes your choice of 4G providers. The integrated WiMax card is the Intel 6250,which will of course provide good ol’ fashioned Wi-Fi connectivity as well as 4G. We have to wonder if Gateway will also offer a 3G option on the NV59C66u for those areas of the country where 4G isn’t yet available.
Along with 4G capabilities comes news of a refresh of the popular NV series. They’ve been sporting the same design elements for awhile now and the latest ones appears to be a slight upgrade with a “tone-on tone patterned espresso chassis.” On the inside, however, there’s a smorgasbord of processor options with everything from AMD Athlon and Turion to Intel Core i3 and i5 processors. Gateway is starting the price for these 15-inchers at $479, but we’re fairly certain that won’t get you a Core i5 system with 8 GB of RAM. Either way, we look forward to testing out the 4G goodness of the NV59C66u soon. Stay tuned for a full review.
