Fuel to the iPad 3 Rumor Fire: Double-Resolution Images Spotted in New iBooks App

Apple had its hands full with iBooks 2 and iTunes U announcements today, but it looks like a bit of iPad 3 news managed to slip through the cracks.
A sleuthing tipster over at BGR dug into the new iBooks app and discovered some double-resolution iPad images—a.k.a. 1536 x 2048 pixels versus the iPad 2′s 1024 x 768 display. It’s been rumored that the iPad 3 will feature an HD Retina display, so could this be the confirmation we’ve all been waiting for?
