Toshiba's Portege Z830 is built to last, with a magnesium alloy case and an underlying honeycomb structure that give the system added rigidity and durability. Other durability features include a backlit, spill-resistant keyboard. The Z830 will have an SSD, as well as Toshiba Hi-Speed Start technology, so it should be able to boot up in 10 to 20 seconds.
Consumers will be able to choose between second-generation Intel Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 low-voltage processors. Both the Z830 and the Z835 will have a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768, but the business-focused Z830 will have a matte finish and come with a fingerprint reader. The integrated 8-cell battery should provide up to 8 hours of battery life. Toshiba's Ultrabook will start at less than $1,000.
