The folks at Boy Genius Report are reporting today that they have the first ever pictures of RIM’s rumored BlackBerry Dakota handset. BGR also has listed the alleged full specifications for the device.
Based on the Bold in terms of design, the Dakota looks to be sporting the familiar QWERTY keyboard and a 2.8-inch VGA resolution capacitive screen. Certainly a having a touchscreen is welcome news.
Other notable features include BlackBerry OS 6.1, NFC chip, a 5-MP camera capable of HD recording, and 3G mobile hotspot. The quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE phone will also support Tri-band UMTS networks. Interestingly, a magnetometer (compass) is also rumored to be on board. We’ll keep our ears to the ground for other Dakota developments as the happen.
