Epic Video Hands-On of The Samsung Epix
October 27th, 2008 by Todd Haselton
We’ve had the AT&T Samsung Epix for a few days and are planning to have our review up shortly (wow, that was fast), but we wanted to bring you a video hands on of the phone first so you can get a looksie at the successor to the Blackjack family.
While we like the improvements made over the BlackJack II, like the implementation of Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with the haptic touchscreen and stylus, and the included 3.5mm headphone adapter, we think its $199 price tag is too steep. The Blackjack II, for example, came out on the market at $149.99.
Improvements over that phone include Wi-Fi (although we’re having some issues), and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with a haptic touchscreen. We like that the jog wheel was replaced by a fun optical mouse that’s easy to use, but it did take us a few days to get adjusted to it. The device has a slightly larger battery, too, although we’ve noticed that we’ve had to recharge it daily since getting it in our offices.
Stay tuned for our full review, here’s a hands-on video where we show it off side-by-side with the Blackjack II.
