Engadget Gets First Look At Nano-Powered “FreeStyle” Netbook

FreeStyle Netbook with Via insideEngadget got their hands on a sweet-looking netbook dubbed the “FreeStyle.”  This Via Nano-driven system has several great features — a nice big trackpad with good buttons, a great look (so nice to see something other than plain old black), and an 11.6-inch display.  Yes: 11.6.  Despite the screen size, Engadget reports that its lightweight and will sell for around $500. There’s supposed to be a working model on display at CES, so hopefully one of LAPTOP’s attendees will be able to check it out in-depth.  I’m especially interested to see if the CPU will out-perform the Atom, as Via claims, and if the netbook will be able to handle Vista. Check out Engadget’s gallery here.
